PVPVA64 combined with K30 and K90 in Hair Styling Products
PVP has been used as a hair styling resin since the early 1950s. With the advent of PV P, the hair styling market began to grow rapidly. PVP and its copolymer are widely used in shampoo, hair cream, hair gel (H air jelle transparent gel), styling fluid, hair cream and hair spray.
In hair finalize the design product, a variety of film - forming agent compound use can often achieve a small amount of synergistic effect. K30 film is hard and brittle, large amount of use alone, poor economy; K90 film formation is hard, set the intensity is high, but the high dosage leads to the solution viscosity, atomization is difficult, and the film formation hygroscopicity is strong, there is a sticky feeling; VA64 film formation is hard, but the ability to curl under high humidity is poor, therefore, the combination of the above three products is particularly important. The orthogonal experimental design was used to investigate the combination of the three products, and it was not expected to find the best combination of curling under this condition, because it was obvious, but to find the primary and secondary values of the three products in the formula and the significance of the shaping effect through range analysis and significance test.
PVPVA64 and K30, K90 combined in hair styling products for the application of guidance
(1) when the film agent K30 is used alone, the medium setting strength can be achieved at the concentration of 3% ~ 5%, and the strong setting strength can be achieved at the concentration of 7% ~ 9%, and the film is hard and brittle; When VA64 and K90 are used alone, 3% concentration can achieve a strong stereotyping effect, among which K90 performs better. However, it is worth noting that the viscosity of K90 solution is large, and there is a slight sense of viscosity when the additive amount exceeds 5%. It is difficult to atomize if the dosage is more than 3% when the pump spray bottle spray is used. Therefore, when using K90 in gel water, you should pay special attention to its addition amount and try to use VA64 instead of K90.
(2) when K30 and VA64 were used alone as the film agent, the film strength significantly decreased, and the curl retention rate both showed a significant decline with time. It could be reduced to about 25% within 2 hours, and only when the dosage of VA64 reached about 9% could the strong curl retention ability be achieved. K90 has a strong curl retention ability under high humidity, but under this condition, when the concentration is greater than 5%, it has a strong sticky feeling. The difficulty of spray caused by high viscosity also restricts the application of K90 in gel water.
(3) in the compounding process of the three products, the synergistic effect of compounding is obvious. Medium humidity (rh60%), K30, K90, VA64 keep similar contributions to crimp, can be selected flexibly to reduce costs. Under high humidity (rh90%), the content of K90 in the formula has a significant impact on the crimp retention effect, which should be mainly K90, with VA64 and K30 as auxiliary.
